5 students in running for scholarship

Five students in Columbia County schools are semifinalists in the 2008 National Merit Scholarship Program: Augusta Prep seniors Amanda Matheson, Joshua Segura and Trevor Terris, and Lakeside High School seniors Benjamin Chan and Linda Yi.

These students are among about 16,000 semifinalists nationwide who will compete for 8,200 Merit Scholarship awards that will be offered in the spring.
