Local inventor takes top prize with club caddy

Martinez resident David Jones can now claim the title of king of the golf invention world. Jones' invention, the Club Caddy was voted the top golf invention on the Golf Channel's reality TV series, Fore Inventors Only, in a series finale last week.

The Club Caddy, an oversized clip that keeps golf clubs upright and off the grass and sand of a golf course, will be given shelf space at all Golfsmith stores throughout the country for one year.

Jones will also receive a fully developed infomercial and $50,000 worth of air time on the Golf Channel.
