Music series

Columbia County's Sunset Music Series at the Evans amphitheater continues at 7 p.m. Thursday with blues-rock musicians The Vellotones. The Sept. 13 finale will feature The Groove Masters, with tables for four at $25 each. Call (706) 312-7194.

Contestants sought

Contestants are being sought for the 2007 Miss Columbia County Fair Scholarship Pageant, to be held Sept. 29. Sponsored by the Columbia County Merchants Association, the pageant is open to single women ages 17-24, with judging in interview, swimsuit and evening gown competition. HHS car wash

The Harlem High School Band will hold a car wash from 9 a.m.-noon and a bake sale from noon-3 p.m. Saturday at the Domino's/Movie Gallery in Grovetown.

Art sought

Entries are being sought for the Artists' Guild of Columbia County's second annual Art After Dark exhibition, to be held Nov. 30-Dec. 29 at the Columbia County Library, with an opening reception from 7-10 p.m. Nov. 30. CCASE picnic

Columbia County Advocates for Special Education (CCASE) PTO will hold its annual picnic from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine, at Evans Elementary School.
