Columbia County's Sunset Music Series at the Evans amphitheater continues at 7 p.m. Thursday with blues-rock band The Vellotones. The Sept. 13 finale will feature The Groove Masters, with tables for four at $25 each. For information, call (706) 312-7194.

Art sought

Entries are being sought for the Artists' Guild of Columbia County's second annual Art After Dark exhibition, to be held Nov. 30-Dec. 29 at the Columbia County Library, with an opening reception from 7-10 p.m. Nov. 30. Church luncheon

Covenant United Methodist Church's pastor, the Rev. Randy Monk, will be the guest speaker for the monthly Time Out luncheon at First Baptist Church of Evans at 11:50 a.m. Thursday. Lunch costs $5, with reservations due by Tuesday at noon by calling (706) 863-1228.

Garden series

The Columbia County Extension Service office's monthly Gardening at Lunch series will be at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbia County Library with Extension Agent Charles Phillips presenting a program on composting. Future sessions include The Best Winter Annuals, Oct. 3; Bulbs, Nov. 7; and Care of Houseplants, Dec. 5.

Fort expo

A community expo open to military and civilians will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Gordon Club on 19th Street. Businesses and service providers will be represented to provide information about the community, events and leisure services.

Legion dinner

American Legion Post 192, in Evans, will hold a potluck supper starting at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 11. Dinner costs $5 per plate.

Democrats meet
