Asset meeting
Former members and subscribers of North Columbia Fire and Rescue are invited to a meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday at the courthouse in Appling to discuss possible investment of remaining assets in scholarships to benefit former members and their families.
Fort expo
A community expo open to all military and civilians will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 6 at the Gordon Club on 19th Street. Local businesses and service providers will be represented to provide information about the community, events and leisure services.
Vendors needed
Limited spaces are available for food and craft vendors for the annual FireFest, to be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Oct. 13, in Evans. For information, call Kathy Watkins at (706) 860-6166.
Hosts sought
The STS Foundation is seeking host families in Columbia County for foreign exchange students. Host families are asked to provide room and board.
