Head coach: Scott Chadwick (second season)
//
2006 record: 4-6
2006 highlight: Chadwick's first game as head coach at The Brierpatch was unforgettable. The Wolfpack trailed visiting rival Evans by 10 points in the second half, but Greenbrier quarterback Nick Richards led the home team on a 56-yard scoring drive in the final 52 seconds. Richards' last second dive into the end zone gave Greenbrier a 21-19 win over the Knights.
Last trip to postseason: 2003
Breakout season: Andy Gray hasn't played a down of varsity football in his life, but the senior basketball player put on the pads anyway. Spring football and summer workouts have pointed to Gray as one of the top receivers.
Player to watch: Greenbrier fans won't be the only ones watching second-year starter Richards. Don't be surprised if a few college coaches keep their eyes on the 6-4, 210 lb. senior also.
Strength: Greenbrier's strength might be its strength - literally. Wolfpack strength coach Kevin Hunt has had a full year shaping and sculpting the Greenbrier talent. Expect a stronger offensive and defensive line that won't get pushed around by bigger teams in the region.
Weakness: Last year's star tailback Freddie Jones is gone, and there's no one like him in this season's backfield. It'll be a runningback by committee situation at The Brierpatch, which won't make the best complement to a much-improved passing game.
