The Augusta Jewish Community Center is inviting the public to hear a special guest speak this weekend.

Bill Nigut, the executive director of the Anti-Defamation League, will give an insiders look into what the league does with his talk "Bigotry is Alive and Well and Living Around Us." He will take the microphone at 3 p.m. Sunday at the center at 898 Weinberger Way in Evans.

Sunday's talk is one of several events presented throughout the year as part of the center's educational and community programming, said Leah Ronen, the executive director of the center and the Augusta Jewish Federation.

Nigut and other guest speakers and events focus on issues that affect the Jewish community, Ronen said.

"Sometimes we have Israeli authors or music or whatever," Ronen said. "The Anti-Defamation League doesn't just deal with anti-Semitism. It deals with hatred all together."

Admission is free for center members and $5 for non-members. For more information, call the center at (706) 228-3636.
