Garden series

The Columbia County Extension Service's monthly Gardening at Lunch series begins at 12:10 p.m. at the Columbia County Library, with presentations by Extension Agent Charles Phillips. Sessions include Composting, Sept. 5; The Best Winter Annuals, Oct. 3; Bulbs, Nov. 7; and Care of House Plants, Dec. 5. For information, call (706) 868-3413.

GOP training

India Day

The Indo-American Cultural Association of Augusta will hold its annual India Day celebration Saturday at Jabez Sanford Hardin Performing Arts Center in Evans. Admission costs $1, with proceeds going to local charities such as the Shelter for Abused Women.

Supply drive

Georgia Safe is holding a drive to collect school supplies for children in foster care. Drop off supplies at the office at 4424 Columbia Road, Suite B, in Martinez.

Models needed

Curvaceous Cuties is seeking plus-size models (size 14 or larger) for a scholarship fundraiser fashion show Oct. 20. Open call will be held at 7 p.m. Friday at Georgia Safe, 4424 Columbia Road, Suite B, Martinez. For information, call (706) 399-8788.
