Conditioning camp

A free conditioning camp is held at Blanchard Park every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday through August. Saturday camps will run from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and Tuesday and Thursday camps will run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. The free conditioning camp is intended to help 8- to 14-year-olds prepare for football season. Golf tournament
The Late Summer Charity Golf Classic for Walk for Autism will be at West Lake Country Club on Aug. 20 with a 9:30 a.m. shotgun start. Registration deadline is Aug. 13 and cost is $150 per player or $600 per foursome which includes green fee, golf cart rental, scoring, tournament favors, breakfast, lunch and beverages. Fall sports
Registration is open at the Columbia County Recreation Department for the fall sports seasons, including football, soccer, cheerleading and baseball. Registration hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registrations also can be mailed in by Aug. 7 to Columbia County Recreation Department, P.O. Golf tournament
The Augusta City Junior Championship will be held Aug. 11-12 at Forest Hills Golf Club. The 36-hole medal-play tournament, which will have boys and girls divisions, is limited to the first 90 entries ages 10-18. The entry fee is $60 which includes a practice round and lunch each day. Baseball tourneys
Registration for fall baseball tournaments is open to any travel baseball teams. Tournaments include the Atomic City Summer Blast on Aug. 18-19 in Aiken, the Peach Belt Border Bash on Sept. 15-16 in Aiken, the A-Town Throw Down NIT on Sept. 28-30 in Aiken, the Savannah River Slugfest on Oct. 13-14 in North Augusta, the Georgia-Line Boo Ball NIT on Oct. 26-28 in Aiken and the Aiken Fall Finale on Nov. 10-11 in Aiken. Baseball tourney
The BlueforKids Charity Baseball Tournament will take place Aug. 25-26 at Riverside Park in Evans. The tournament, held in conjunction with the Columbia County Recreation Department and the Augusta GreenJackets, includes 10-and-under, 12-and-under and 14-and-under age groups. Proceeds will benefit BlueforKids foundation and a hospital visit at MCG. The cost is $300 per team. For more information, visit www.blueforkids.com. Tennis registration
The CSRA Junior Tennis League will have open registration for the fall team tennis season Aug. 1-28 for children ages 5-18. For registration instructions, go to www.csratennis.com, and in the menu under "Juniors" and "Instructions" click on "Player." You will need a current USTA membership valid through Dec. 30 to register. To obtain a USTA membership, go to USTA.com. League runs from Sept. 16 to Dec. 8. Rowing club
The Augusta Junior Rowing Team is having an open house Aug. 28 from 6-8 p.m. at the Boathouse in Augusta. This is an excellent opportunity to meet the coaches, learn more about the sport and tour the Boathouse. Arrive before 6:30 p.m. to see the team rowing. Ages 13-18 may join the team on a trial basis beginning Sept. 4 from 4-6 p.m. No experience is necessary. For information, go to www.augustarowingclub.org.
Soccer openings
