Lakeside fans watching ESPN's Sportscenter on July 27 saw a familiar face on the screen. Former Panther football star Brian Bratton was on the highlight show and in the best possible spot in the program.

Bratton, a member of the Canadian Football League's Montreal Alouettes, ensured his team the victory on July 26 with a 79-yard punt return for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter.

Bratton's score not only sealed the 26-13 win, it also caught the eye of the Sportscenter producers, who highlighted the punt return as a top 10 play.

Bratton, the only former Columbia County athlete currently on a professional football team, finished the game with eight punt returns for 170 yards.

Want to see Bratton's Sportscenter-worthy punt-return for yourself? It's on the Internet on, you guessed it, YouTube. Go to www.youtube.com and search for CFL-MTL at TOR. You'll see Bratton field the punt, break a tackle, make a punter look silly and sprint 79 yards for a score.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Click here to view the video. The punt return takes place around 2:49 into the video.
