Snelling to serve on board of state panel

Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle has appointed Dr. George Snelling, of Martinez, to serve on the board of the Georgia State Properties Commission.

Snelling is an investor, real estate developer and owner of Snelling Properties LLP, in addition to the vice president of the Georgia Self-Storage Association. He is a former dentist with a degree from the Medical College of Georgia. In addition, he serves on the board of the Georgia Medical Center Authority and the Builders Association of Augusta. He has been a resident of the Augusta area for 35 years.

The Georgia State Properties Commission is responsible for the acquisition and disposition of all state-owned real property and all real property interests. It also is responsible for the inventory of all state-owned and leased real estate property.

Limestone College Honor Roll

The following local students were named to the Honor Roll for the 2007 spring semester at Limestone College: Kendra Wilson Englade, of Evans, and Steven E. Jones, of Grovetown.

Grovetown students score high averages

Victoria Yrizarry, of Grovetown, was recognized as having the highest yearly average in the sixth grade at Columbia Middle School for the 2006-07 school year. Second-highest yearly averages went to Taylor Cason and Savannah Burns, and third-highest was awarded to Brian Little.
