The following local students were named to the Merit List of Oxford College for the spring semester: Cassandra Giles of Augusta, daughter of Phillip Giles Jr. and Mary L. Giles; Teresa Nafarrete of Evans, daughter of Alberto R. Nafarrete and Dr. Cynthia Apostol Nafarrete.

WSSU Spring 2007 Dean's List

The following local students at Winston-Salem State University in Winston-Salem, N.C., were named to school's spring Dean's List: Troy Moore, of Grovetown, an accounting major; and Keoshia Worthy, of Martinez, a psychology major.

Emory University graduates

The following local students received degrees from Emory University, in Atlanta, on May 14: Augusta: Mandeep Singh, son of Harinderjit Singh and Arvind Kaur Singh, received a bachelor of arts; Maria Habib, daughter of Mona H. Hanna, received a bachelor of arts; Jennifer Yuan, daughter of Yen Yen Pu Yuan, received an associate in arts; Tayyeba Ahmad, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mahmood Ahmad, received a doctor of medicine; Evans: Timothy Sears, son of Jeanne Lorey Dixon and Curtis Adams Sears, received a bachelor of science; Sumant Ponnala, son of Navin Chandra Ponnala and Rajeshwari Devi Ponnala, received an associate in arts; Ansley Sims, daughter of Christopher Forrest Putt and Stephania Hinnant, received an associate in arts; Wendy Munera, daughter of Jose Antonio Munera and Wendy Nanette Munera, received a master of public health; Neetu Bali, daughter of Mohan L. Bali and Chand S. Bali, received a master of public health; Kimberly Linticum, received a master of science in nursing; Sameera Warsi, received a master of public health.

Mercer University President's List

Garon Muller, of Grovetown, attending the Stetson School of Business and Economics, has been named to the President's List for the spring semester at Mercer University.

Mercer University Dean's List

Rebecca Snowdall, of Grovetown, attending the Walter F. George School of Law, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring semester at Mercer University.

Valdosta State University spring graduates

The following students are spring graduates from Valdosta State University: Rebecca Elizabeth Brown, of Evans, who graduated with a master of education in school counseling; and Richard Thomas Gaddy of Martinez, who graduated with a bachelor of fine arts in art.

Valdosta State Dean's List

Brandi E. Maddox, of Evans, has been named to the spring Dean's List at Valdosta State University.

Vanderbilt Dean's List

Nakul Singh Shekhawat, of Evans, son of Drs. Prem and Rashmi Shekhawat, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring semester while attending the College of Arts and Science.

Adrian College graduate

Kenyia Batts, of Evans, majoring in environmental science and biology, graduated April 29 with a bachelor of arts degree.

St. Leo University Dean's List

Marvin Phillips, of Grovetown, has been named to the Dean's List at St. Leo University, in Florida, for the spring 2007 semester.

Faulkner University President's List

Hannah Hastings, of Evans, a sophomore in liberal arts/journalism at Faulkner University, was honored for her excellent academic record by being named to the President's List. Hastings has maintained a 4.0 GPA.
