The Republican Women of Greater Columbia County will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Grand China Buffet, 4368 Washington Road, in Evans.

Seniors Council

Memory Walk

Canal event

Columbia County's Summertime on the Canal festival will be held from 4-11 p.m. Friday, with an outdoor festival and indoor craft show at Savannah Rapids Pavilion, a rubber duck race at 8 p.m. and a concert at 9 p.m. Admission is free. Watermelon fest

The fourth Annual Tom Watson Watermelon Festival will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Hickory Hill, in Thomson, with games, contests, arts and crafts vendors and live music.

Parent orientation

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity, in downtown Augusta, will hold a parent orientation for the Mother's Day Out program at 10 a.m. Aug. 17 in St. Patrick Hall. Spaces available for children walking through age 4.
