Community 'reached deep into their pockets' to send cookies to troops

It is with much pride and many thanks that we say "Thank you" to all our generous supporters of our "Support Our Troops Girl Scout Cookie Drive."

Once again our community stepped up to ensure our successful endeavors. Academy Sports (new to our area) gave much-needed discounts on shower shoes and socks. Yellow Freight donated shipping. The Columbia County News-Times and The Augusta Chronicle ran an article requesting help from the community.

The patrons of Kings Crown Barber Shop reached deep into their pockets, and the Martinez-Evans community generously donated cases and cases of cookies.

These donations were sent to injured troops at Walter Reed Medical Hospital and the Rehab Center in Richmond, Va.

We have received many thanks from the troops, and extend many thanks from us and them.
