The Children's Resource Center, at 6347 Columbia Road, in Appling, operated by the Columbia County Foundation for Children, is holding a $3 bag sale on summer clothing. The center is open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the first Saturday of each month. For information or to make donations, call (706) 541-2849.

Nominees sought

The public is invited to nominate candidates for Columbia County Arts Inc. third annual Individual Artist award, given to a living Columbia County artist who has dedicated himself or herself to excellence, growth, support and availability of the arts in Columbia County. Pottery workshops

Gospel visit

Jimmy Snow, the son of Grand Ole Opry star Hank Snow, will perform in a gospel concert at 7 p.m. July 27 at the Purvis Community School on Georgia Highway 17 between Thomson and Wrens.
