The Columbia County public libraries in Grovetown and Harlem will play host Wednesday to musical folktale performances for children to have fun, sing along and learn.
//
Bob Linsenmayer, also known as Mr. Bob the Singing Storyteller, will bring his wealth of folktale knowledge, original songs and instruments to the Euchee Creek Library at 10:30 a.m., and the Harlem Library at 2 p.m.
Harlem branch librarian Amanda Cash said it will be Linsenmayer's first visit to the city's library.
"He does a lot of old-fashioned stories," Cash said. "He plays the spoon and the washboard and tells stories."
Linsenmayer's original works focus on themes such as honesty, responsibility, respect and caring, according to his Web site.
His list of instruments also includes the 12-string guitar, six-string guitar, jaw harp and African drums.
Reservations to the shows are not required, and children are urged to sing along.
