I am truly beginning to wonder when we are actually going to war. The Democrats, Republicans, and indeed the electorate are causing me to lose faith. Leadership seems to be elusive at the highest levels.
Our president has requested, and can't even get several past retired four-star generals to come back into the service and lead us to victory. They all refused because they know the civilians and politicians are running a politically correct war.
All we see is negative on TV. Iran is supporting the insurgents, Syria trains and supplies the insurgents with weapons to kill our soldiers, they are not concerned about collateral damage, and we do nothing. What is the answer?
Let's go to war! We could wipe out the Iranian Air Force and take out all of their nuclear plants and rocket sites in hours. We could take out their Navy in a few days (or less). A well-coordinated surprise attack could accomplish this in a day against an enemy that has sworn to destroy us as soon as they have the means.
Yes, I agree with my neighbor and fellow veteran: We should act unified, secretly and quickly. And yes, the world will object to us acting unilaterally and using our power as the so-called strongest nation in the world, but if we act quickly and secretly, it will be over with no or minimum loss to ourselves.
Do we have any politicians in Washington who have the guts to save our country? We lost in Vietnam because of the civilian leadership in Washington. We won World War I and World War II because we weren't concerned about "collateral damage."
The current leadership in this country is not doing what the electorate voted them to do: protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. They should be ashamed. I know I am.
