Augusta Prep students earn national recognition

The following Augusta Prep students received national recognition on the National French Exam: Mathieu Erramuzpe, seventh grade, ranked third in the nation; Joseph Glass, eighth grade, ranked seventh in the nation; Solene Clavel, ninth grade, ranked sixth in the nation; and Emilee Friedman, ninth grade, ranked 10th in the nation.

More than 104,000 students took the 60-minute examination, designed and written by American Association of Teachers of French. Its purpose is to stimulate interest in the teaching and learning of French and to reward student and faculty achievement.

Samford U. Cumberland School of Law Dean's List

Jill Marie Downey of Martinez, was recently named to the spring Dean's List at Samford University's Cumberland School of Law.

Gardner-Webb U. Dean's List

Natalie A. Pippin, of Evans, whose major is religious studies, was among a group of students named to the spring Dean's List at Gardner-Webb University.

UGA graduate

Bradford Huffman, of Martinez, graduated magna cum laude from the University of Georgia on May 12. He received a bachelor of science degree in forest resources majoring in water and soil resources. He was elected to the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society.

Columbia College Dean's List

Angela Kay Maselli, of Evans, was recently named to the Columbia College Dean's List for the spring semester. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John A. Maselli, of Evans.

Davidson College graduate

Chad D. Barlow, of Martinez, graduated in May with a bachelor of arts degree majoring in religion. Barlow participated in Campus Outreach and Lake Forest Church youth group ministries. He is the son of Mark and Lora Barlow, of Martinez, and is a graduate of Lakeside High School.

Furman University Dean's List

The following local students have been named to the Furman University Dean's List for the spring term: May L. Dirksen, of Evans, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John Dirksen; Ashley E. Sisco, of Evans, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sisco; and Jordan D. Walters, of Martinez, son of Dr. and Mrs. Gordon Walters.
