Camp meeting

The United Methodist Church annual Whiteoak Summer Camp Meeting at Whiteoak Campground will be held through Friday, with services at 11 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. daily.

Blood drive

The Columbia County EMA Summer Blood Drive will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday at the Columbia County Government Center Auditorium in Evans, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Roads and Bridges office in Appling. Call Linda Petersen at Shepeard Community Blood Center, (706) 737-4551.

Cub Scout camp

The Kiokee District of the Georgia-Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America will hold its annual Cub Scout Summer Day Camp at Wildwood Park on July 9-13 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration costs $90. For information, go to www.gacacouncil.org, or call (706) 733-5277.

Sunflower fest

The Sixth annual Sunflower Festival will be held 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday with an antique tractor parade at 11 a.m., and again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday in Rutledge, Ga., near Madison off Interstate 20. Admission costs $5; children under 12 are admitted free.

Lake event

Liberty on the Lake will be from 3-10 p.m. July 3 at Little River Marina and Family Resort. For information, call (706) 541-1358.

July 4th barbecue

Christ Church Presbyterian, on Southern Pines Drive at Furys Ferry Road, will present a concert and a barbecue dinner at 4:30 p.m. July 4. Veterans eat free; cost for all others is $3, with a $12 family maximum. For reservations, call (706) 210-9090.
