I am writing this letter to support Bill Jackson as our voice in the state Senate. I have known Bill through various capacities.
When I was principal of Grovetown Elementary School, he would always accept and be part of our program for Veteran's Day. He has such an overwhelming passion to see young people receive a quality education and an opportunity for them to be successful in life.
I was part of the first committee that was convened to give input and compose the Growth Management Plan of Columbia County.
I often found myself conferring with Jackson about the expansion of business and industry while balancing it with the natural beauty and historical properties of significance within Columbia County. He provided me with sound advice as we developed a plan that has been the basis of development for our community.
Also, I turned to him when I was on the executive board of the Columbia County Republican Party as we developed priorities and initiatives. Again, he was a valuable resource because of his life experiences and his political prowess.
I have also enjoyed his viewpoints in our Sunday school class at Shiloh United Methodist Church. But more importantly, I have seen him personally stand up for what is right and to be a mediator in times of conflict.
Through these experiences, I have seen a man of value and character, a person of commitment and a man that wants the best for the district he will serve as our next senator.
