Woman loses her purse during home invasion
//
A 60-year-old Augusta woman was the victim of a home invasion Wednesday afternoon at a Columbia County house.
The incident occurred at about 3 p.m. Wednesday when a man armed with a knife entered the home on Summer Place in Martinez and snatched the purse of the woman, who is a caretaker at the Martinez home, said Columbia County sheriff's Capt. Steve Morris.
Morris said the woman wasn't injured, and the intruder ran to a waiting vehicle that was driven by another man. The vehicle was described as dark, possibly a Pontiac. The intruder had worn a stocking over his face, Morris said.
