If Mexico can't control its borders, U.S. should annex it as a territory

Perhaps I'm being deliberately naive in regards to real political ramifications, but in a conflict I look for ways to pressure my opponent outside of the predictable.

Were I a congressman or senator I would propose that any nation who has more than 20 percent of its population immigrate to the United States be annexed as a U.S. territory, even by force if necessary.

Mexico has a population of 108 million. If there are 12 million Mexicans in the U.S., 11 percent of their population is in our country!

Although the media and liberals would mock such a proposal, I think it would strike a chord with the American people and they would see the logic of it.

Ultimately the effect would be very strong border security from Mexico's side of the border.

If Mexican immigration tipped the scales such that Mexico is annexed, U.S. citizens could then begin moving to Mexico, bringing capitalism and prosperity with them. The abundance of cheap oceanfront real-estate, oil and labor would make it a desirable U.S. territory.

The more I think about it, the more I like this idea.
