Farm Bureau meets
The May meeting of the Columbia County Farm Bureau will be held in the Evans Community Center May 22 at 7:30 p.m.
Alpha Fowler, president of the Georgia Poultry Federation, will speak. This will be the last meeting of the Farm Bureau until September as the club will follow the usual custom of taking summer vacation.
Little League formed in Harlem
The 8- to 12-year-old boys of Harlem have been organized into a baseball league for the 1958 season. The team's captain is Wallace Brock and the assistant is Jerry Carter.
The team has played three games so far, and has won a game, lost a game, and tied a game.
Members of the team include: Gerry Carter, Butch Whiddon, Brent Yells, Bobby Meybohm, Wayne Hardy, Charlie Lambert, Jackie Brock, Kenneth Reese, Bobby Brown, Tommy Kipp, Jerry Stokes, David Deer, Carry Silas, Mike Judd, Phillip Judd and Bobby Neal. They will play their next game on Saturday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
Carter elected booster president
Gerald Carter, Harlem contractor, was elected president of the newly formed Boosters Club at Harlem High during ceremonies following a barbecue supper Tuesday night of this week. Several hundred people attended the supper and the program that followed.
