Voting deadline

The deadline to register to vote in the June 19 special election is Monday at 5 p.m. Registration is available at the Board of Elections office on Faircloth Drive, in Evans; at Grovetown City Hall; at Harlem City Hall; at the Probate Office in Appling; and at other locations. Voter registration drives will be held 11 a.m. to noon Friday at Harlem High School, and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday at Evans High School. For information, call (706) 868-3355.

Safe sitter class

Safe Kids of East Central Georgia and the MCG Children's Medical Center will hold a safe sitter class for 11- to 13-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, in Evans. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. To register, call Rene Hopkins at (706) 721-7606.

Bike rodeo

The MCG Children's Medical Center and Kohl's will hold a free bike rodeo for children from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kohl's parking lot, with games, bicycle safety lessons and T-shirts. For information, call (706) 721-7606.
