Chamber event

Harlem meeting

The Harlem Planning and Zoning Commission will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to review a request for a zoning change for property at 410 N. Louisville St., and to vote on the final plat of the Ansley Place subdivision. The meeting will be held in City Hall at 320 N. Louisville St.

Prayer breakfast

The 35th Signal Brigade will hold a Christian prayer breakfast at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Gordon Club at Fort Gordon, with Vietnam War veteran Dave Roever as guest speaker. Tickets are free and are available at Bicentennial Chapel. Donations will be accepted at the door. Call (706) 791-5182.

Candidate forum

A forum for candidates in the 10th District U.S. Congress race will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Jaguar Student Activities Center ballroom, at Augusta State University. Admission is free. For information, call (706) 737-1710.

Safe sitter class

Safe Kids of East Central Georgia and the MCG Children's Medical Center will hold a safe sitter class for 11- to 13-year-olds from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, in Evans. Cost is $25 and includes lunch. To register, call Rene Hopkins at (706) 721-7606.

Bike rodeo

The MCG Children's Medical Center and Kohl's will hold a free bike rodeo for children from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday in the Kohl's parking lot, with games, bicycle safety lessons and T-shirts.
