Safe Kids East Central Georgia is seeking volunteers to help with events such as car seat and bicycle checks, and to lead ongoing programs that teach safety to children and teens. Training is provided. For information, call (706) 721-7606.

Essay contest

The Student and Youth Travel Association Youth Foundation is holding its second annual Silver Lining Program essay contest for youths ages 14-19, who are asked to create an essay, video presentation or other media describing how they have been affected directly by the Iraq war.
