Local resident spends semester in Greece

Kevin Lillis, of Evans, a sophomore nursing major, is among 38 students spending the semester at Harding University's International Program in Greece. In addition to cultural and language studies, students study biblical archaeology and the humanities. They take part in educational tours of the major Greek islands and other locations.

Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship award

Joshua Daniels, of Martinez, has been named one of two recipients of Chick-fil-A's Leadership Scholarship, a national program that has awarded more than 21,000 scholarships to support restaurant employees seeking higher education. Daniels is using the $1,000 scholarship, awarded by John Powell at the Washington Road location, to study aerospace engineering at Augusta State University.

Evans student named to President's List

Gregory A. Ryan, of Evans, has been named to the President's List for fall semester at Georgia Southwestern State University by taking 15 hours of courses and earning a 4.0 grade-point average.

Butler University Dean's List

Colin Quinn, of Evans, has been named to the fall Dean's List at Butler University. He is enrolled at the College of Business Administration and majoring in finance.
