Delayed entry program enlistee

Siriwan E. Mobley, daughter of Ada Hampton of Evans, has joined the United States Army under the delayed entry program. The program gives young men and women the opportunity to delay entering active duty for up to one year. Mobley graduated in 1992 from high school in Shreveport, La., and received a bachelor's degree in 2004 from Augusta State.

The Citadel fall semester Dean's List

The following local cadets/students were named to the Dean's List and were Gold Star recipients for achieving a 3.7 grade point average or higher: Michael Anthony Rivera, of Evans, and Patrick John Wheale, of Greenville.

Meritorious Service Medal awarded

Army Sgt. 1st Class Dianne M. Masse has been decorated with the Meritorious Service Medal. The medal is awarded to members of the U.S. Armed Forces who distinguish themselves by either outstanding achievement or meritorious service to the United States in noncombat situations. Masse is assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 36th Signal Battalion, Camp Walker, Taegu, South Korea. She is the daughter of Catherine M. Tackman, of Grovetown.

Basic training

Army Pvt. Paul W. Prichard has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla. He is the son of Danny L. Prichard, of Martinez.

Army Pvt. Ashleigh K. Hall has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Hall is the daughter of Stacey Hall of Evans, and is a 2005 graduate of Evans High School.

Army Pvt. Jason Richardson has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Richardson is the son of Kellie Whitaker of Grovetown and is a 2005 graduate of Augusta Technical Institute.

Army Pvt. Matthew E. Bramlett has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Bramlett is the son of Tammie Ashmore, of Evans.

Army Pfc. Dominique P. Curry has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. He is the son of Diane Curry, of Martinez, and a 2003 graduate of Evans High School.

Army Pvt. Sherrick L. Beard has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia. Beard is the son of John H. and Barbara A. Beard, of Harlem, and is a 1995 graduate of Harlem High School.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Clayton D. Shiver has graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Officer Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Cary D. and Monica L. Shiver of Evans. His wife, Sarah, is the daughter of Brenda Brantley, of Augusta. Shiver is a 2004 graduate of Lakeside High School.

Army Pvt. Bradley C. Stone has graduated from Phase I of the Radar Repairer Advanced Individual Training course at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, Ala. He is the son of Paula M. Alexander of Lincolnton.

Air Force Airman 1st Class Kevin L. Wade has graduated from the Air Traffic Control Operations Apprentice Course at Keesler Air Force Base, Biloxi, Miss. He is the son of Janet I. Lemke, of Grovetown.
