- Army National Guard Spec. Tonya T. Tabb, daughter of Barbara Tabb, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pvt. Demetris D. Johnson, son of Katie Johnson, of Columbus, Ga., and Walter Lotharp, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Air Force Airman David H. Johnson, a 2005 graduate of Hephzibah High School and son of Mamie Johnson, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Army Pvt. Roger A. Buff, son of Roger Buff, of Blythe, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Air Force Airman Nofo S. Lilo, brother of Elizabeth Sacket, of Augusta, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Air Force Airman 1st Class Matthew L. Fishburn, a 2003 graduate of Westside High School and son of Jutta Fishburn, of Augusta, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Georgia Army National Guard Spc. Dejernaro Wilson, a logistics specialist with Company A, 878th Engineer Battalion in Swainsboro, Ga., has received an encased American Flag and a Freedom Salute certificate for service in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Spc. Wilson is a resident of Augusta and a student at Georgia Military Institute.

- Master Sgt. Jay Stewart, of Augusta, recently received the Meritorious Service Medal for his efforts in assisting the Department of Veterans Affairs offices of both Fort Gordon and Augusta. He is part of the Joint Force Headquarters at Ellenwood, Ga.

- Spc. Dalexander Davis and Chief Warrant Officer Russell Holmes, both of Augusta, recently participated remotely from Afghanistan in a half-marathon, running the 13.1 miles as part of Operation Endurance through the Lehigh Valley Half Marathon.

- Army Pfc. La'Tonya M. Saterfield, daughter of Vernell Saterfield, of Safford, Ala., and Kevin Saterfield, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Air Force Airman Clayton M. Murray, a 2006 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and son of Quinthia Hall, of Augusta, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Air Force Airman Timothy C. Byrd, a 2003 graduate of Cross Creek High School and son of Charles Byrd, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Army Pvt. Alexis D. Marshall, son of Anthony Marshall, of Augusta, and Vanessia Marshall, of Ellenwood, Ga., has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

- Army Pfc. Eric J. Serrano, brother of Jose Serrano, of Augusta, has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

- Army Reserve Pvt. Craig S. Gray, a 2005 graduate of Southgate Christian High School and son of W. Reid, of Hephzibah, has graduated from Basic Combat training at Fort Sill, Lawton, Okla.

- Spc. Stanley Butterfield Jr., of Hephzibah, has received an encased American flag in recognition for his recent service in Iraq with the 214th Security Force. He is an armorer with Battery B, 1st Battalion, 214th Field Artillery, Georgia Army National Guard.

- Spc. Torenzo Flake, of Augusta, has received an encased American flag in recognition for his recent service in Iraq with the 214th Security Force. Spc. Flake is an ammunition specialist with Battery C, 1st Battalion, 214th Field Artillery, Georgia Army National Guard.
