Cleanup planned

A two-week "clean-up" campaign was announced by Mayor Ira Taylor of Grovetown last week. The mayor stated that the campaign would begin on Monday, April 27.

The city plans to cut down all weeds growing in ditches alongside the roads. The mayor noted that the new equipment purchased, a Ford tractor, a new rotor blade, a scraper, and a front-end loader, cannot reach every place, so residents are urged to join in the campaign with swing blades. Residents are also urged to plant flowers and shrubs and to trim hedges to contribute to the spring clean-up.
