Chalk up another major accomplishment for the Greenbrier boys soccer team. The Wolfpack squad has already earned statewide recognition with a Class AAAA No. 2 ranking and a 14-1 regular-season record.
Their perfect 8-0 record in subregion play ensured they'd receive the No. 1 seed in the Region 3-AAAA Tournament this weekend.
If all that wasn't enough, there's one more accomplishment the Wolfpack squad can take pride in. Greenbrier is ranked No. 7 in the nation regardless of classification in the most recent National Soccer Coaches Association of America boys soccer poll. The team is also ranked No. 2 in the Region II poll that covers all schools in Georgia and Alabama.
The Wolfpack finished the regular season on a nine-game winning streak. I wouldn't be surprised to see that streak continue all the way to the Class AAAA state championship.
Don't forget the girls
Greenbrier's girls soccer team is ranked No. 5 in the most recent Class AAAA poll. The Lady Wolfpack have been ranked as high as No. 4 this year and finished the regular season with a 13-2 overall record and a perfect 8-0 subregion record.
Regular season baseball doesn't get any bigger than this week's games. We could be crowning a regular-season subregion champ by week's end. Catch these:
