Columbia County authorities are looking for two men who robbed a food delivery driver at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

Cub Scouts go to State Capitol
Cub Scout Pack 643, which meets at Wesley United Methodist Church, went to the Georgia Capitol building on Feb. 19. The scouts toured the building, met Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle and visited the Georgia Aquarium and the RMS Titanic exhibit at the Atlanta Civic Center.

Current events
Augusta State University senior Rebekkah Bullard will hold a ceramic art show in the former Columbia Theatre building in Harlem Monday through Saturday. A reception will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday. All art will be for sale with 10 percent of the proceeds benefitting the theatre building fund. Donations also will be accepted. Evans geometry team is first
The Evans High School geometry team won first place in category AAAA of the statewide math competition March 17 at Greater Atlanta Christian School. Six of Evans' eight geometry students won individual trophies. Robert Edward Amerson, 29, of the 6400 block of McZilkey Drive in Appling, was charged with driving under the influence on Dec. 23, 2006, and was sentenced to 12 months probation and was fined $835.

- Coleen Wallace has joined Johnson, Laschober & Associates PC as a landscape architect. She was previously the sole proprietor of the C. Wallace Design landscape architecture consulting company for the past 12 years. The Aiken resident's responsibilities will include land planning and landscape architectural consulting and design.

Under the direction of the school system's central office, and against the wishes of many parents, River Ridge Elementary will stage a partial redrawing Tuesday for slots in its pre-kindergarten program.

Augusta Christian senior signs with Shorter
Augusta Christian senior Bo Inglett did something on March 29 that only one other football player in Columbia County has done this school year. The Lion linebacker signed a college commitment.

Greene in extended training to treat injury
While most big leaguers are wrapping up the opening week of the 2007 Major League season, former Evans star Todd Greene is trying to make sure he gets to play.

New facility to open at park
Disc golf will soon have a tangible home in Columbia County. It will also have a museum, a national tour event and a new director.

Golf state championship coming to area
Lakeside's boys golf team traveled to Calhoun, Ga., last year to bring home a Class AAAA state championship. This year, the state tournament is coming to them.

Club teams give players edge in season
Even though one night of regular season soccer has yet to be played, things couldn't have turned out any better for Columbia County's girls soccer teams.
