Augusta Christian senior Bo Inglett did something on March 29 that only one other football player in Columbia County has done this school year. The Lion linebacker signed a college commitment.

"That was one of the first things he mentioned," Augusta Christian football coach and athletics director Bruce Lane said. "He wanted to play football after high school."
Inglett signed with Shorter College, an NAIA school in Rome, Ga.
The senior said he first started playing football as a member of the Harlem Middle School squad and also played at Harlem High School. He transferred to Augusta Christian last fall and said that made all the difference.
"It was greater than I ever could have expected," Inglett said. "It felt like a family here."
As a starting linebacker, Inglett helped Augusta Christian reach the South Carolina Independent Schools Association Class AAA state finals this past fall. He was named to the SCISA All-Region 1-AAA Team and the SCISA South All-Star Team.
"He was a great asset to our program," Lane said. "Bo is a guy who could have played at a lot of different places for us. He has so much versatility."
Lane said Shorter College, which will begin its third football season this fall, plans to keep Inglett at linebacker.
Greenbrier tailback Freddie Jones, who signed with Tusculum College, is the other Columbia County football player to sign his way to the next level this season.
