Sweethearts named
Sandar Fleming of Ev-ans and Faye Reynolds of Harlem were selected to represent the district in the state FHA Sweetheart contest during district elim-ination held recently at Evans School.
Also competing in the district contest were Janey Taylor of Thomson, Brenda Johnson of Hephzibah and Sandra Newton of Millen.
Harlem play set
On Friday night, April 14, 1961, in the Harlem High School auditorium, the senior class will present its annual play, a three-set comedy titled Lilacs in the Rain.
The play is a typical slice of American home life. The cast of characters includes Barbara McGuire, Crissy Moon, Marie Cliatt, Peggy Cox, Charles Anderson, Charles Reeves, Frances Clary, Carolyn Knighton, Jeff Dorn, George Marshall and Leonard Tankersley. The play is under the director of Mrs. Thomas Cliatt.
Queen chosen
Lydia Hahn, daughter of the Rev. and Mrs. M.L. Hahn of Richmond, Ky., formerly of Martinez, was chosen queen recently by the students at Pawling Hall, a dormitory on the campus of Georgetown College, Georgetown, Ky. Her father is a former pastor of Abilene Baptist Church in Martinez.
Citizens of Tomorrow
The Columbia News Citizens of Tomorrow for the week are Kenneth Guy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Guy of Harlem; Gordon Saggus, son of Mr. and Mrs. R.G. Saggus of Harlem; and Gregg Sullivan, son of Mrs. March Sullivan of Harlem.
