The Columbia County Library in Evans will play host to a 2 p.m. lecture and discussion today with Lallie Dozier Benkoski entitled Georgia Family Genealogy.
Benkoski, a genealogist and resident of Albany, Ga., will discuss genealogical research for beginners and offer advice for more experienced researchers who might have encountered road blocks in uncovering their family history, said reference librarian Cheryl James.
James said Benkoski is well-versed with the genealogical records at the Columbia County and Richmond County libraries and will bring a wealth of research advice.
"She has access to materials throughout Georgia," James said. The public is encouraged to bring their research and questions.
The event is free and registration is not required. For more information, call the library at (706) 863-1946.
