University of Mobile President's List

Larrie Reece, of Evans, has been named to the University of Mobile's President's List for the fall semester for maintaining a 4.0 grade point average while taking at least 15 semester hours.
Six boys achieve rank of Eagle Scout
The following young men have earned the rank of Eagle Scout, the highest rank in Boy Scouts, during 2006: Lakeside High School students Dale McClung, Michael Fox, and Evans High School students Bobby Rule, James Waldron III, Kenneth Widener, Timothy Mettenburg all achieved the rank.
They are from Boy Scout Troop 15, sponsored by Martinez United Methodist Church.
ASU alum awarded scholarship
Michael Huff, of Grove-town, recently received a $2,500 annual scholarship to attend Southern College of Optometry in Memphis.
A graduate of Augusta State University, Huff is the husband of Wendy Wright Huff, also of Grovetown, and the father of a son, Easton.
Dainer awarded Torrison Scholarship
Erin M. Dainer, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Paul M. Dainer, is one of only four nationwide recipients of the Torrison Scholarship for the year 2006-07.
The scholarship is awarded based on merit and to pursue a career in medicine. Dainer is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America, her home church is Christ the King, and she is a first-year medical student at Medical College of Georgia. Erin is a 2002 graduate of Lakeside High School and a 2006 graduate of Georgia Tech.
