Military milestones

- Air Force Airman Terry S. Whitby Jr., son of Shenella Whitby, of Fort Gordon, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Army Reserve Pfc. Michelle N. Walker, a 2006 graduate of Josey High School and daughter of Laverne Burch, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Army Pvt. Justin L. Washington, a 2005 graduate of Westside High School and son of Barbara Carr, of Augusta, has graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia.

- Air Force Tech. Sgt. Kelly B. Larson, a 1988 graduate of Glenn Hills High School, has graduated from the Air Force Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Tyndall Air Force Base, Panama City, Fla.

- Air Force Senior Airman Alex D. Winfrey, a 2001 graduate of Lucy C. Laney High School and son of Nancy Winfrey, of Augusta, has been promoted to his present rank.

- Army Reserve Pvt. Jamario F. Smith, a 2006 graduate of Cross Creek High School and son of Vernon and Sonia D'Antignac, of Hephzibah, has graduated from the Food Service Specialist Advanced Training course at Fort Lee, Petersburg, Va.

- Air Force Airman Tertius L. Durham, a 2006 graduate of T.W. Josey High School and son of Laura Durham, of Augusta, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.

- Air Force Airman David D. Laws, a 2005 graduate of Butler High School and son of David and Latece Laws, of Hephzibah, has graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio.
