X-ray clinic planned

The Columbia County Health Department will have a chest X-ray clinic on March 7, 1958, for people who have or have had home, familiar or employment contact with a case of tuberculosis; those having malaise suspicious or indicative of tuberculosis; and those being advised to have an X-ray examination by their family physician.

Cyclist hurt

Horace Fitzgerald, 19, narrowly escaped death when he purposely swerved the motorcycle on which he was riding to avoid hitting the stalled motorcycle of a friend.

The crash helmet he was wearing and quick rendering of first aid by a fellow racer, Vick Crenshaw, were credited with saving the boy's life. Minor head injuries and the loss of two teeth were the extent of Fitzgerald's injuries.
