The 2006-2007 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges will include the following Columbia County students from Augusta State University who have been selected as outstanding campus leaders: Christopher D. Fontimayor, of Martinez, biology; Casey A. Howard, of Martinez, Spanish; Ivy A. Minnie, of Martinez, social work; and Anastasia M. Zolotova, of Evans, English.
Martinez native gets UGA award
Martinez resident Mareasa Fortunato, a University of Georgia honors student, has been awarded a 2007-2008 Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarship to study abroad.
She earned a $23,000 academic-year Ambassadorial Scholarship from Rotary District 6910 (Georgia area - Martinez-Evans Rotary Club). She is planning to travel to Bath, England, to pursue a one-year master of research degree in social policy with a focus on globalization and international policy analysis.
