Coach: Craig Johnson (5th year)
//
Colors: red, white, black
Last state title: 2006
Last region title: 2005
2006 record: 23-4
2006 highlights: Augusta Christian dominated the rest of the South Carolina Independent Schools Association, including a 2-0 sweep over Wilson Hall in the state championship series. It was the second state title in a row for the program.
Player to watch: Senior Josh Whitaker led the county last year with a .507 batting average. He's inked his way into North Georgia College on a baseball scholarship, but more than a few Major League Baseball scouts have their eye on this starting pitcher/first baseman.
Strength: After two consecutive state titles, this team knows how to win. The experience factor, along with a pitching rotation that runs over seven deep, could make for a state championship three-peat.
Weakness: There's no flying under the radar in SCISA competition this year. The Lions can expect to see every team's No. 1 ace in every regular season game.
