Quick Facts: Augusta Preparatory School

Posted: Wednesday, February 21, 2007

Coach: Dan King (2nd year)

//

Colors: blue and gold

Last state title: none

Last region title: none

2006 record: 7-11

2006 highlights: Chris Burch, then a junior, launched a grand slam out of Augusta Prep's field to clear the bases in a game last season. King said it was the first home run ever hit at Augusta Prep's field.

Player to watch: Senior Spencer Morgan broke school records as a junior last season and should do the same this year.

Strength: Augusta Prep's infield is pretty much set, with a nucleus of returning seniors covering the bases. The Cavalier infield will hold more experienced players than ever before.

Weakness: With more than three-fourths of the team also playing basketball, the Cavaliers won't have much preparation time before the season begins in March.
