Recreation, zoning boards created
The Columbia County Board of Commissioners, at its most recent meeting, gave approval for the creation of a county-wide recreation program that will give most every child an opportunity to participate in some type of supervised recreational program.
The commissioners approved a list of names of persons representing all areas of the county to serve on the recreation committee.
Also at the meeting, commissioners approved creation of a five-member Board of Zoning Appeals. This group will function as a body to study any appeal made by residents dissatisfied with the decision of the Columbia County Zoning and Ordinance Committee.
