Auxiliary National President JoAnn Cronin will be the honored guest at a dinner at 7 p.m. at American Legion Post 192 on Legion Drive.

Cronin is the keynote speaker for the evening, and likely will discuss the Veterans Creative Arts Festival, a national program to provide creative and therapeutic outlets for veterans, according to a news release.

Miriam Stein, the leader of the American Legion Auxiliary for Post 192, said Cronin also likely will discuss supporting service members deployed overseas and volunteerism at the Augusta Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Centers.

Stein said this is the first visit by a national Legion or Legion Auxiliary president to Post 192. "This is history for us," Stein said.

Earlier in the day, Cronin is scheduled to meet with members in Augusta and attend a Creative Arts Festival at the Uptown VA hospital.
