A pair of Evans victories at Lakeside on Friday night wrapped up regular-season play.

For Lakeside's boys and girls it marked the end of the season. For the rest of the county, this week signals the start of postseason play.
Greenbrier's girls claimed the top seed in the Region 3B-AAAA standings and went 25-0 in the regular season. Evans' girls finished at fourth in the subregion while Harlem, in Region 3B-AAA, took the No. 5 seed.
On the boys' side, Harlem also grabbed the No. 5 seed in the Region 3B-AAA standings. Evans clinched the No. 3 seed in the Region 3B-AAAA standings with a win over Lakeside on Friday, while Greenbrier holds the No. 4 seed.
Neither the girls' nor the boys' Region 3-AAAA standings were solidified until the final games of the regular season Friday.
"We knew things wouldn't be decided until tonight," Evans boys basketball coach Kevin Kenny said Friday night after the Knights' win over Lakeside gave them third place in the final subregion standings. "We still have a couple of things we need to correct, a couple of lapses on defense, but for the most part I feel pretty good about where we're at."
Evans will travel to Ware County today, while Greenbrier will go to Wayne County for the first round of the Region 3-AAAA tournament.
The winners will advance to the Region 3-AAAA Tournament semifinals at Richmond Academy this weekend. A first-round region tournament win also guarantees a spot in the Class AAAA state tournament.
