The Columbia County Recreation Department will have an adult softball organizational meeting Monday, Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the administration office at Patriots Park to discuss the upcoming spring softball season, fees, schedules and any other questions. Basketball tryouts

Volleyball clinic
The CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will hold developmental clinics for girls in grades 5-11 on Sundays from 5-7 p.m. through March 25. The clinics will be held in the Boardman Athletic Center at Augusta Prep. Cost is $160. For reservations, call Lance Abbott at csra_heat@yahoo.com or (706) 860-8539.
Umpire meetings
The Augusta Baseball Umpires Association is recruiting umpires for the 2007 high school season. Experience is a plus, but playing experience, a knowledge of the game and a desire to participate is also helpful. Classroom and on-field training will be provided. The ABUA will meet each Sunday in January and February at 4 p.m. in the Westside High School Auditorium. For information, call Frank Harast at (706) 210-1412.
Soccer openings

Basketball tryouts

Football tryouts
The CSRA COBRAS Minor League Football Team, a member of the SFL (Southern Football League), will conduct open tryouts March 3 and 17 behind The Boys and Girls Club in Augusta off Broad Street at 9 a.m. Tryout fee is $75 with shorts and shirts provided.
