Bands to battle

The Lakeside High School Battle of the Bands will be from 7 to 10 p.m. Feb. 24 at the school gym. The fee for bands is $25, and one member of the band must attend a Columbia County high school. Spectator tickets will cost $5 at the door.

Car, truck show

A car and truck show to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation will be held Feb. 17 at the Shoppes at Furys Ferry, at Furys Ferry and Baston roads, in Martinez. Singing valentines

Prayer breakfast

Author and businessman Glenn Thomas will be the speaker for Fort Gordon's observance of the National Prayer Breakfast at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Gordon Club.
