The Augusta-based Christian theater troupe is searching for about 25 youngsters to portray animals on Noah's ark in a musical titled The Animals on the Gopher Boat. Enopion Director Carol Rezzelle said nonspeaking roles are vital to the production and will require learning choreography for the 18 songs in the show.
The Animals on the Gopher Boat is an original production by Enopion and tells the story of the 100-year construction of the ark and the time Noah, his wife, family and the animals spent aboard the vessel.
The children chosen as animals also will have key roles in a pre-show that explains how the animals came to be on the ark, Rezzelle said.
She said the musical is dramatic and comedic and is heavily choreographed to match a swing, country and contemporary Christian music score. Principal actors have already been cast and are in rehearsal.
Actors must apply, and applications are available at www.enopion.com. For more information, contact Enopion at (706) 771-7777, or visit the Web site.
