The CSRA Junior Tennis League for ages 8-18 is holding open registration for the spring team tennis season through Monday. To register, go to www.csratennis.com and in the menu under "Juniors" and "Registration" click on "Player." A current USTA membership valid through April 30 is required to register. To obtain a USTA membership, go to www.usta.com or call USTA at (800) 990-8782. The league fee is $20 plus a $2 TennisLink fee. League play starts Jan. 28 and ends April 1. Umpire camp
The CSRA Baseball Umpires Camp will take place Jan. 27 at Westside High School from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The camp will feature major league baseball umpires Marvin Hudson and Fieldin Culbreth and is open to the experienced amateur or beginning umpire. The camp, which costs $60, includes a GHSA clinic for Georgia high school umpires, Dixie certification and USSSA certification. Umpire meetings
The Augusta Baseball Umpires Association is recruiting umpires for the 2007 high school season. Experience is a plus, but playing experience, a knowledge of the game and a desire to participate also help. Classroom and on-field training will be provided. The association will meet each Sunday in January and February at 4 p.m. in the Westside High School auditorium. For more information, call Frank Harast at (706) 210-1412.
Basketball signup
Grovetown and the Marshall Family Y have joined up to bring youth sports programs, including coed basketball for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Games will be played at Grovetown's Liberty Park, and registration is taking place through Saturday at the Marshall Family Y in Evans, and through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Liberty Park. Volleyball clinic
The CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will hold developmental clinics for girls in grades 5-11 on Sundays from 5-7 p.m. through March 25.
