Basketball registration
The city of Grovetown and the Marshall Family Y are partners in new youth sports programs including youth co-ed basketball for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Games will be played at Grovetown's Liberty Park, and registration is today through Saturday at the Marshall Family Y in Evans, and through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Liberty Park. - The Columbia County Patriots is starting a U-6 Junior Academy Program. Practices will be on Monday nights and games will be Saturday mornings. Registration information is available at the club Web site at www.patriotssoccer.org or by calling (706) 312-7488.
Rowing tryouts
The Augusta Junior Rowing Team will conduct spring tryouts Jan. 8-10 from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the Augusta Boathouse at 101 Riverfront Drive. Men and women ages 13-18 are invited to participate. No experience is necessary. Call (706) 821-2875 or go to www. augustarowingclub.org.
Volleyball clinic
The CSRA HEAT Volleyball Club will hold developmental clinics for girls in grades 5-11 on Sundays from 5-7 p.m. through March 25. The clinics will be held in the Boardman Athletic Center at Augusta Prep. The cost is $160. For reservations, call Lance Abbott at csra_heat@yahoo.com or (706) 860-8539.
