'Sower' speaks

Michael Guido, "The Sower" from Metter, Ga., will be the guest speaker at 10 a.m. today at a service celebrating the fifth anniversary of Bible Fellowship Church, which meets at the Belair Conference Center, 4083 S. Belair Road.

Alzheimer's luncheon

A free lunch program, Alzheimer's: Safety in the Home, Driving and Wandering, will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Medical College of Georgia Alumni Center, 919 15th St. Kathy Tuckey, the regional director of the Alheimer's Association, will speak.

King speaker

Author and educator Gene Cornelius Young will speak during a program in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fort Gordon's Alexander Hall on Chamberlain Avenue.

Lunch series

The University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Service Gardening at Lunch series will be at 12:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Columbia County Library in Evans. County Agent Charles Phillips will discuss hydrangeas.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) will hold an open house at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11 at Grovetown United Methodist Church. For information, call (706) 863-0726.

Driver class

Classes for the AARP Safe Driver program, geared to drivers ages 50 and older but available to all licensed drivers, will he held from 1-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Brandon Wilde. Cost is $10.

MLK musical

The fifth-grade pupils of Brookwood Elementary School will present the musical tribute, I Remember Martin Luther King Jr., at 7 p.m. Thursday, and at 9 and 9:40 a.m. Friday. The school is at 455 S. Old Belair Road.
